Yusk is a self-taught artist born in Chicago to a Japanese father and a Brazilian mother, raised in the vibrant cultural landscape of Brazil. Emerging from São Paulo’s rich graffiti scene in the early 2000s, Yusk has never ceased to create, evolving into a globally recognized artist with a distinct and authentic style.
With a career spanning over two decades, Yusk has held ten solo exhibitions across four continents and participated in more than 30 group shows worldwide. In 2026, his 11th solo exhibition will take place in Manila, Philippines, followed by an 12th in Melbourne, Australia.
Working primarily with drawings on paper and paintings on canvas, Yusk has been described as "a man walking the path to mastery," a testament to his relentless exploration of materials and rapidly evolving techniques. His work examines the relationship between humans and technology, offering a dystopian yet spiritual vision of human descent versus technological ascent. Through intricate compositions and thought-provoking narratives, Yusk delves into the inevitability of progress, questioning how it reshapes human connection and existence.
